By using this website and/or placing an order, you accept the below terms of business.
CAKES
Payment: when you order a cake, we will send you an invoice via email, with full payment details. You can pay either by card securely online (we use Stripe) or by bank transfer (details on the invoice).
Booking confirmation: Your booking is not confirmed until we have received payment (either in full or deposit as agreed). When we take your booking, we'll pencil in your date and will reserve the slot for two weeks. If payment isn't forthcoming within that time, we reserve the right to take other bookings.
Order Confirmation Invoice: once we have agreed with you the details of your order, we will confirm the details of your order, such as the specification of the cake, personalisation, decorative elements/theme, size, collection or delivery arrangements etc, on your invoice. Please check this through and let us know of any amendments prior to payment. Payment is taken as approval of the order details and though we may be able to make changes after this, it may not be possible if changes are requested close to the collection date.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. Your order is bespoke and refunds cannot be given once we have started preparing your cake; for most cakes this cut-off point is 36 hours prior to collection, and for wedding cakes this is 2 weeks prior to collection.
Please note that wedding cake deposits are non-refundable.
Fulfillment of orders: If we are unable to fulfill your order for any reason, such as due to extreme unforeseen circumstances like fire, flood or acts of god, then a full refund will be made, but we cannot accept any liability for any other loss you may suffer such as loss of enjoyment or loss of business.
INGREDIENTS AND ALLERGENS
Allergens: We are a vegan bakery, and not a free-from bakery. We use several allegerns in our kitchen including wheat, oat, soya, nuts, sesame and occasionally peanuts, sulphites. Currently, our default (vegan) buttercream recipe contains approx 0.3% almond oil as an ingredient in the buttercream. We also occasionally use ingredients where the manufacturer cannot guarantee the absence of traces of dairy or egg (eg produced in a non-vegan factory). We take extra care where an allergy or intolerance is highlighted, but regretfully we cannot cater for severe allergy sufferers.
ALLERGIES MUST BE DECLARED AT THE TIME OF ORDERING and will be confirmed on your order confirmation invoice along with the other specifications of your cake. Please ensure that all allergies are acknowledged on your order confirmation invoice, as your cake will be baked to this specification. (Allergen information is supplied with your cake on delivery or collection).
Non-edible elements: If you have ordered a speciality cake it may contain inedible structural elements such as plastic or wooden struts, and the presence of these will be made clear on the allegen info and use-by info supplied with your cake. Please take care to supervise children when eating the cake as sometimes sugar figures may look realistic but they are not toys.
CAKES IN THE POST
Safe transit: Where cakes are posted via Royal Mail, they will be securely packaged within their box against moving or bumping and labelled as fragile, however we cannot guarantee that the postman will treat the box carefully! Please be aware that there may be signs of mild damage in transit. For this reason we post simple cakes only.
Delivery: We post Parcelforce Next Day by 1pm with tracking. A signature is needed on delivery so someone will need to be present to receive the parcel. Tracking info will be supplied on the day the cake is posted.
NB: Where a cake is to be delivered to a place of multiple occupancy such as a workplace, hospital, university hall of residence, nursing home etc, we cannot be responsible if the parcel is shown as delivered to the address but is not handed over to the addressee. In this case, please contact us in advance to discuss where the cake is likely to be delivered (such as a central delivery office) and how the addressee will be advised of its arrival.
